WAXING COURSE FOR SKI TOURERS

free of charge | approx. 60 min. | max. 25 participants | HWK & ÖSV

Due to their lightweight construction, touring skis should not be treated in the same way as piste skis. The edges are usually not as thick as on alpine skis and the base is also much thinner. To ensure ideal gliding properties, the base should be run over a machine once a season, depending on use, to give it a new structure. Any other wear and tear that occurs during the season can be replaced by yourself. By hand and with a little skill!

DATES

SATURDAY | Booth A089 - HWK & ÖSV 2.00 p.m.
SUNDAY | Booth A089 - HWK & ÖSV 2.00 p.m.

Ski SKIN CARE AND MAINTENANCE

free of charge | approx. 60 min. | max. 19 participants | Koch Alpin

If you don't just want to ski on groomed pistes, but also want to reach untouched slopes, you need the right touring equipment as well as expertise and experience in dealing with alpine conditions.

In addition to touring skis, bindings and boots, this also includes climbing skins. Such skins are available either already tailored to a specific ski or in universal sizes for self-fitting.

This workshop will teach you the basics of

How do I choose the right skin for me?
What is mohair? Differences in skin pile.
Cutting skin to size: Which tools do I need? Try it under the guidance of our experts.
What are my priorities? Differences in adhesive technologies.

Ski skin care: There are many reasons why a skin does not work as it should. In certain snow conditions, this can hardly be prevented. But there are a few basic tips and tricks to prevent these unpleasant situations. If you look after your ski skins carefully, you will be rewarded with optimum function and a long service life. Our pros will show you how.

Emergency tips: What to do if the skin fails during the tour?

What should you do if you lose your gliding ability/roll up, lose your ability to stick or if the fastening mechanism is defective? What should you always have with you in an emergency? The workshop concludes with a market overview for orientation.
